Mechanical Tour

Mechanical: While her specifications and particulars are shown on the home page, this mechanical tour will give details and pictures of the technical aspects of MOJO, showing the engine, transmission, generator, fuel valving, batteries, etc.

Walkway thru Mechanical Space

Starboard side walkway thru mechanical space leading to aft cabin. Side panel of engine box has been removed to show engine access. Note fresh water pump and filter located on aft bulkhead for easy access.

Starboard side of engine

Note 6 gal hot water heater on aft bulkhead and large muffler and dry stack. Muffler and stack are covered with 8lb ceramic wool insulation.

ZF BW61 Transmission

4.63:1 reduction ratio, hydraulic clutch. Drives a 3" stainless steel shaft. Transmission is rated for continuous duty on workboats and military/police boats.

Front of Engine

Cummins Engine-Port Side

Port side access panel removed to show port side of Cummins 6BTA-5.9M diesel. Great access for routine maintenance or repairs if needed

Kohler 9KW genset

9KW 220v Kohler generator powered by 3 cylinder Yanmar diesel. Approximately 2,000 hours. Portions of sound shield are removed to show engine. Remote start and instrumentation located in the deckhouse engine panel

Battery Box

Located below the floor boards, starboard side of the engine box. Contains 10 6v golf cart batteries for the house bank and 1 Group 31 starting battery. Yellow box at bottom of picture is a 2,000 watt Pro-Sine full sine wave inverter with 105 amp battery charger

Located port side of mechanical space. Work bench, drill press, vice & grinder.

Fuel Valving

Looks complicated but is actually quite easy to select filtering options, fuel polishing, etc. Can filter fuel via Gulf Coast F1 paper towel filter, Racor 500 filter, or both in sequence. Can recirculate fuel for polishing from any tank and return to any tank.
